It looks like the Cole Marsh Conservation Area walk this Saturday, June 16th, will have great weather! Be sure to bring your bug spray and hiking or rain boots, though. We do stay on the pathways, but an occasional detour is not out of the question. The summer walks are such a great way to get kids back into nature and explore their surroundings. My daughter was so excited about the porcupine quills we found at Broadview and can’t wait to see what we discover at Cole Marsh. So please join us as we meet at 8 A.M. at the conservation area’s entrance on Damren Road (off of Hampstead Rd). We usually start our walk once a good amount of us are there… so if you are running late, just give one of us a call/text to let us know to wait!
Our next event will be the screening of the documentary Tapped. We are very excited about this as it will be our first time hosting a screening and look forward to having a good crowd and productive discussion afterward. Our co-hosts are the Derry Conservation Commisssion and The Coffee Factory located in the Derry Commons. The screening will take place at the Coffee Factory and it is free and open to the public. The doors “open” at 5:30 and we will start the movie at 6:00. Bring a friend and please RSVP so we have an idea as to how many people will be attending.
